About me

I've spent more than 20 years building products. Most recently I was Chief Product Officer at Lighter Capital, a revenue-based lender to SaaS startups.

Before that I was the first employee at System1. I worked alongside the two founders to turn an idea into one of the largest independent ad-tech platforms in the US. Earlier, I led product at Leaf Group and Spark Networks.

My training is technical. I studied computer science and mathematics and graduated with honors. My instincts are operational. I've founded and sold my own businesses, including an Amazon store and a pediatric medical practice in Los Angeles, so I know what it takes to make payroll and ship on a deadline.

I learned leadership early, as a Lieutenant in the Israel Defense Forces responsible for a company of 250 soldiers. Today I advise startups and serve on boards, including UCLA's Master of Quantitative Economics advisory board.

How I work

The same four steps whether I'm joining a seed-stage team or a public company. The depth changes. The order doesn't.

  1. Step 1

    Listen first

Customer interviews, advisory boards, and the numbers. I want to know where the business makes and loses money before I suggest anything.

  2. Step 2

    Set the direction

A clear product vision and a roadmap tied to company goals. It's written so the board, the engineers, and the sales team all read it the same way.

  3. Step 3

    Build what matters

MVP, alpha, beta, launch. Tight specs, honest prioritization, and feedback loops that shape the product while it's still being built.

  4. Step 4

    Scale and automate

Data integrations, AI, and process automation that take hours out of the operation, so the team can spend its time on growth.

Strategy is only useful if it ships.

Where I can help

Engagements run from a single strategy sprint to a standing fractional role. Most start with a conversation about what's in the way.

  • Fractional Chief Product Officer

Senior product leadership without a full-time hire. I lead the roadmap, the team, and the board conversation.

Ideal for Seed to Series C companies

  • Product Strategy and Roadmapping

A product vision and a prioritized plan your executive team agrees on, with the metrics to track it.

Ideal for companies at an inflection point

  • Zero to One Product Builds

From concept and architecture through MVP, beta, and launch. I've done it inside a startup and inside an established lender.

Ideal for new platforms and business lines

  • AI and Automation Strategy

Practical AI that pays for itself, like ML document parsing and automated underwriting research.

    Ideal for operations-heavy teams

  • Fintech and Lending Platforms

Credit decisioning, fraud prevention, underwriting, and financial data integrations with Plaid, QuickBooks, Xero, and Stripe.

Ideal for lenders and fintech startups

  • Executive and Board Advisory

Board-ready product updates, customer advisory boards, and an experienced outside view on product and team.

    Ideal for CEOs and boards
